2026 Spring and Summer Diving
Surf’s up! At least, the waves are and the wind has been blowing hard. That means that this winter and spring, we’ve had a hard time getting out of the dock. But when one door closes, another opens. El Nino conditions are expected to develop later this spring and should bring flatter seas and warmer weather with them. When that happens, we’ll be ready to dive! Check out the graphic below for spring/summer diving dates.
If you’re new here and interested in diving with us, I strongly recommend meeting up for ‘Spring Training’ at the lake or doing some early season shore diving with us. Look - nobody likes an instabuddy, whether that’s on vacation in Florida or back home. With a safety-first mindset, we’d always want to get to know someone before we go diving 100ft down in the blue (or green) with them.
What should you expect in spring training? Everybody coming together for some early season dives to shake off the rust, run operational checks of equipment, test shiny new gear you got for Christmas, or meet the others they’ll be diving with this year. As an added bonus, I plan to lead some night dives between smores and hot dogs around the campfire.
And shore diving? This year, I plan to use shore diving dates to check out some new sites, such as seagrass beds and potential new nearshore wrecks. There will be the usual suspects as well - like the jetties and Triangle Wrecks.
And lastly, boat diving? Last year, we were lucky to hit some great dives out of the Outer Banks and Virginia Beach, including stellar days on the U-85, Proteus, Consols, and the Light Tower. We’re hoping to do the same this year and dive to wrecks from Hatteras to the Eastern Shore, with offshore wrecks for the experienced divers planned along with inshore days for the newer divers.
With that, I can’t wait to see each and every one of you soon! Our first ‘Spring Training’ date is April 25th. If you can’t hit that, reach out and I’m sure one of us would be happy to meet up for a shore dive after work sometime. The best thing you can do is get out and try it!
