Policies

To ensure everyone has a safe and fair diving experience, DiveVB implements the following policies:

  • The stated arrival time is firm. Please arrive at or before the planned arrival time. If you are not on time, the group will not wait for you and if applicable, any deposit or payment will be forfeited. Please plan your travel to the dive sites or docks accordingly. No-shows also mean forfeiture of payment.

  • For boat diving trips, commitment to the trip means that your spot is your responsibility. If you are unable to attend and unable to find a replacement diver, you will still be responsible for paying your spot on the boat.

  • All participants must sign a waiver prior to participating.

  • All divers are recommended to have DAN insurance, or some other diving insurance, and are required to carry insurance for any boat diving trips.

  • As diving activities depend on fair weather, inclement weather may result in trips or outings being cancelled. Deposits can be held for another trip or refunded in the case of weather cancellation.

  • You are responsible for planning your own dive and bringing the appropriate equipment and adequate air supply for the dive. DiveVB does NOT do equipment rentals. Appropriate gear for diving in Virginia Beach includes, but is not limited to, gloves (every dive), a hood and full exposure protection (unless you like jellyfish stings), cutting devices, a DSMB (every dive), and a reel.

  • Most boat diving trips organized by DiveVB are to deeper wrecks and have the potential for low visibility. AOW or higher certification is strongly recommended. We also recommend joining us on a local shore dive prior to joining boat diving excursions.
